In Ypres, I purchased a 2 CD set titled "Far, Far From Ypres" which has music, poetry and songs from le grand Guerre. It is a 2008 release from Greentrax Recording Ltd. It will make you weep. The website is www.greentrax.com; e mail: greentrax@aol.com. Patricia Cockrell Wood |

This is a hard one, I do recall there was an LP of WWI that came out in the 1960's. The Beverly Mass libbary had a copy I signed out. It also had a naration with a history mostly a USA slant.

Great set of links! A well needed addition to the site.
I picked up one CD of WW1 music the other year from the Liberty Museum. While there are plenty of CDs of Civil War Music, WW1 music is harder to come by. Can anybody recommend any particular releases? I would like to hear original muic or re-recordings? |
